VisualBase API Gateway
A secure, unified entry point for VisualBase and approved backend APIs. The gateway authenticates users and devices, applies access and traffic controls, and routes requests safely to the services you configure, through a centrally managed reverse proxy.
What it does
Publish VisualBase and approved existing services to web, mobile and partner applications through one controlled door, instead of opening each system separately.
Secure routing
A reverse proxy (YARP) with configurable API routes sends each request to the right backend service.
Authentication and access
Token-based (JWT) authentication, with access controls for each API.
Users, roles and permissions
Manage external users, their roles and what they may call.
Sessions and devices
Register, monitor and revoke sessions and devices.
Traffic protection
Request rate limiting, and validation of headers and tokens before a request reaches your systems.
Backend administration
Register backend APIs and endpoints and manage gateway settings, including for existing (legacy) services.
Audit
Administration of the audit log, so access can be reviewed.
Web administration console
Manage the gateway from a browser.
Per-environment configuration
Separate settings for each environment, with HTTPS support.
