VisualBase 12 is the .NET 10 successor to VisualBase 11. It is in Pre-release and is not yet generally available. General availability is planned for 1 January 2027, subject to completion of the open acceptance items below.
Once generally available, Mainstream Support runs to 31 December 2031 and Extended Support to 31 December 2033.
Platform changes
- All modern services and libraries target .NET 10.
- Microsoft ASP.NET Core, Extensions, EF Core, and SQLite packages are aligned to 10.0.8.
- YARP is 2.3.0; DevExpress remains 25.2.7.
- Crystal Reports remains in a separate .NET Framework 4.8 component because of vendor/runtime constraints.
- The .NET 8 (VisualBase 11) and .NET 10 (VisualBase 12) lines are maintained separately.
- The installer requires ASP.NET Core 10 and supports an offline hosting bundle.
- Installation packages support a pre-production environment.
Verification completed
- All 21 deployment services build and package successfully.
- All 20 .NET services passed start-up, HTTP and runtime smoke tests; the Crystal Reports component is unchanged.
- Sign-in with a database round trip, Blazor resources, sign-in assets, and live-connection negotiation were checked.
- A signed-in journey checked shared cookies, tokens and profile, database-backed APIs, protected modules, live connection, and sign-out.
Open acceptance items
- Click-through verification of forms, workflow actions, report/dashboard rendering, and Crystal Reports output.
- Verification through the final gateway chain and load balancer.
- Formal release approval, version and build number, release date, supported-platform matrix, rollback qualification, and support-end dates.
Until these items are complete, VisualBase 12 remains Pre-release. If an item is still open on the planned date, the date will be changed and announced here.
